Word Problem Practice General Common Core Worksheet Site

Students have a two side homework sheet that I sent home Thursday. One side is kind of a logic/addition practice page. They only have to complete six of those problems (they can do more if they want). The back side has multiplication arrays. They need to identify the length (dimension) of each side and then find the product (number of squares).
This will be due on Wednesday of next week. They can bring it back with their weekly homework ticket. math_homework.pdf Thanks, I wanted to let you know just finished taking the end of Unit 1 assessment. After reviewing each student's assessment it was clear that subtraction with borrowing is a skill that needs some ongoing practice. We reviewed it in class today and I sent home a worksheet for the kids to do over the next week. They have to complete at least 8 problems, but they can do more!
Today we watched a video in class demonstrating two different models for subtraction. One is the standard algorithm and one is a "front end" method typically used in mental math. The kids took notes and wrote down 2 examples for each model. They can use either model to do their homework. Here is a link to the video if you want to check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuQCtDYebyo Please note that there are 4 models. We only looked at the first two so as not to confuse the kids. Thanks for your support, Kathy Hello parents!
In math, we have been working on multi-digit addition as well as rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. There is a unit on Dreambox around this topic. I have assigned the unit in Dreambox as an option for the kid's math homework. Please remember Dreambox is one of many options for the math part of their weekly homework. I know that Dreambox has had some issues with Flash player, I believe that if you use Chrome it will work...if it doesn't there should be steps listed to walk you through what you need to do to get your computer compatible. Thanks! Kathy https://play.dreambox.com/login/n9tp/springwateress This is the parent letter that accompanies Unit of the third grade math curriculum. It is long, but gives a good explanation of what your child will be learning for the next couple of months.
